For Your Eyes Only

Some bands need to luck into success to become as dedicated as For Your Eyes Only. But the band has too strong a work ethic to let luck be a factor in their success. Take, for example, the short bio posted on the band’s Web site. Instead of grandiose prose boasting of the band’s history and how they will save the world with their music, they utilize the space to give thanks to fans. It’s not a front: The band’s only agenda is playing shows and making music.

Having started out as a “screamo” band complete with the requisite melodic singer and percussive screamer, the band decided to part ways with the screamer and found a new drummer before refocusing their drive for the latest push forward. It was an effort the band describes as the catalyst to “produce the ultimate friendship based, musicianship based, and dedicated band.”

Singer Eric Lugo, guitarists Jarred Popp and Randy Kile, drummer Maxx Popp and bassist Jim Angel make up the Aurora-based band, a quintuplet with a penchant for a stage show as dynamic as their music.
